Synopsis

OASIS, a sophisticated video game simulation that permits users to step into a digital reality, operates on the theory of ‘Ontologically Anthropocentric Sensory Immersive Simulation’. More than just a game, the OASIS is a utopia of sorts. Users can function in any aspect of reality of their choosing. Within OASIS, as in the rest of the universe, the only the boundary is fantasy. It is a reality simulation so advanced that systems of avatars that players control can traverse multi-universe realms.
The character we follow is Wade Watts, who lives in the poor and overpopulated district known as “The Stacks,” and happens to reside in Columbus, Ohio. Whenever Wade is not in school, he consumes a lot of his time in the OASIS, and he has the avatar name of Parzival. He is extremely fond of the game’s developer and his name is James Halliday, who was a quiet genius and was infatuated with a certain time in history. He loved video games and films that came from the 1980s pop culture.
After Halliday’s demise, he is known to having issued a challenge to the rest of the world. He claimed to have hidden an Easter Egg within OASIS, and whoever locates it will gain the virtual universe with the limitless money of Halliday. Ultimately, it is Wade and his friends who, through the sheer, complete, and unwavering belief in the right to freedom of expression and the pursuit of its logical, and in this case, democratic conclusion, emerge victorious. He chooses to distribute his control of the OASIS to the other members of ‘The High Five’, which they all decide to spend two of which to start closing to the public to spend with other people in the physical world.
